Four more credit unions have selected TNB Card Services as their credit card processor. Three of the credit unions moved their business from other processors, while one of them launched a credit card program for the first time. All of them selected TNB because of its wide range of processing services, competitive products, and quality client service.


The new processing clients are United SA Federal Credit Union of San Antonio, Texas; Woodlawn Auto Workers Federal Credit Union of Blasdell, New York; PCM Employees Credit Union of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Moog Employees Federal Credit Union of East Aurora, New York.


“All four of these credit unions carefully evaluated TNB and its competitors when it came to selecting a processor, and chose the option that gives them superior customer service and products, as well as the best value,” said Glen Lee, first senior vice president, TNB Card Services.


United SA Federal Credit Union of San Antonio, Texas, has 30,000 members and assets of $230 million, and although the credit union is 50 years old, it launched its first credit card program this month.


United SA, formerly open only to employees of the USAA insurance organization, obtained a community charter in May 2005, and now serves all of Bexar County, Texas. Until the credit union had the community charter, it had no real need for a credit card program, explained Karla Sarran, marketing director for United SA.


“We wanted to be more competitive, to offer a full set of products,” said Sarran. “We looked at several processors, and decided on TNB because its pricing was better, and because it is owned by credit unions.”


As United SA rolls out its Platinum card program, with a one percent cash-back rebate, paid monthly, Sarran added, “We’re very excited about the potential.” She said that through working with TNB as its processor, “our primary goal is to continue to establish and maintain strong relationships with our members.”


Woodlawn Auto Workers Federal Credit Union of Blasdell, New York, was established in 1968. Originally focusing on the auto industry, it has since diversified to serve a broad mix of employer groups. It is also community chartered in several western New York communities. With 15,450 members and branches in Lakewood and Dunkirk-Fredonia, the credit union has $79 million in assets.


Shirley Meyer, treasurer and CEO of Woodlawn Auto Workers Federal Credit Union, said the switch to TNB for processing was due to its attractive pricing and its automated system. Also, unlike the credit union’s former processor, through TNB’s superior technology the branches can have separate access to the credit union database and handle all their own business, she added.


“We’re looking to expand our card base with our membership, and with TNB we can offer more advanced card programs to our members. They can have access via the Internet to check their balances and review statements,” said Meyer. “We can also take advantage of other beneficial TNB programs that our former processor couldn?t provide.”


PCM Employees Credit Union of Green Bay, Wisconsin, has 7,000 members and assets of $95 million. The credit union was founded in 1958 to serve the employees of Paper Converting Machine Co., and still serves those employees, along with a number of select employee groups.


If PCM Employees Credit Union was going to change processors, the move had to benefit both members and the credit union, said President Dan Wollin.


“We broke the decision down into components,” explained Wollin. “We looked at how members would fare, how it would affect the credit union, and the level of security. In all three cases, we felt TNB was the best choice, and the overall cost of processing is going to be lower than what we are currently paying.”


Wollin said that once PCM Employees Credit Union fully converts to TNB, it will initiate a benefit-rich Platinum card program for members. Also, he said the credit union is looking forward to working with TNB’s new online VIP CardStationTM system, with its instant updating of account and member information.


Moog Employees Federal Credit Union of East Aurora, New York, is open for membership to employees of Moog, a maker of precision control components and systems, and their families. Founded in 1963, the credit union has approximately 9,500 members and assets of $94 million.


In its decision to change processors, Moog was looking for a better value and better service, said Richard Meyer, CEO and treasurer of the credit union.


“When we call, we want to speak to someone who can actually answer our questions and resolve problems quickly,” Meyer explained. “Overall, we feel TNB will provide a more cost-effective program and give us the opportunity to provide more services to our members.”


Among those services, he noted, is a signature debit card program.
