A bit of nostalgia here. Our venerable chairman, Marvin Kaulkin, sent around this video over the weekend.
It depicts uber-famous Fred Allen — of radio and TV humor fame — in one of his first roles. He plays a newspaperman that is “besieged” by an aggressive debt collector (even back in the 20s, debt collectors got a bad rap. Although, to be fair, it’s made obvious that Allen’s character is kind of a deadbeat).
Anyway, watch it below. It runs about nine minutes and it’s a pretty interesting look into the past, before credit cards and really, before the advent of modern credit:
